Zurich Tourism: How to get there
Ok so you´ve decided that you are ready for some Zurich tourism but the first question to ask yourself is how do I get there?
Of course there are 3 ways you can get to to the city beeing by plane, train or car. Let´s take a look at each one of them.
Zurich is a very International city and there are many many options to get there by plane.
More than 100 airlines fly to the Zurich airport which is one of the most important airports in Europe. Switzerland´s airline Swiss is of course the main operator for flights to Zurich but you surely have many other options.
For exemple if you arrive from New York city you have the options of using Swiss, American Airlines for non stop flights as well as many other options if you don´t mind connections which could also save you some cash.
Let´s say you are travelling from Madrid to Zurich. Both Swiss and Iberia have non stop flights.
There are also a couple of low cost airlines that are worth mentioning for Zurich tourism.
Easy Jet has flights from London Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester and Vueling serves many Spanish cities (but not Madrid) as well as the Balearic Islands and Canary Islands.
If you need some more tips about which websites you should check when looking for flights to Zurich
From the airport to the train station (which is located in the center of the city) all it takes is 12 minutes by train. Departures are every 10-15 minutes. (normal day time)
The Swiss Rail system is one of the best in the whole world beeing known for its efficiency and punctuality. The only downside is that it´s not cheap (hey you can´t have everything in life).
This option will surely be more expensive than by plane but if you have the time and want to enjoy some spectuacular views you should consider it.
Zurich is very well served from all the major european destinations. Let´s see a couple of exemples.
Let´s say I want to go from Vienna to Zurich by train. There are five time possibilities every day beeing:

Vienna 09.14 - Zurich 17.20
Vienna 11.14 - Zurich 20.23
Vienna 13.14 - Zurich 21.20

Paris 10.24 – Zurich 15.00

If you happen to rent a car then going to Zurich is pretty easy as the highways are very clearly signed, just make sure you respect the speed limits if you dont want to get some tickets.
Once you are in Zurich I would advise you NOT to get around by car because its public transportation system is one of the best in the whole world and you won´t have to worry about things such as getting lost, finding car parks, not having drinks in some fun bars and so on.
